Amateur and professional astronomers welcome! The park is at an elevation of just under 4000 feet, far from city lights and the coastal glare from Camp Pendleton; the property offers a clear vantage point from which to view the stars.

Here at Sacred Rocks Reserve, we're careful to minimize light pollution so that you can fully enjoy our view of celestial phenomema in the night sky, such as the Perseid Meteor Shower. Bring your binoculars or telescope, and enjoy looking at the Milky Way on nights that the moon isn't full.

You can see for miles at the Stargazer Plateau during the day; enjoy and unobstructed view of the open sky.
